Longwe Twala to appear in court following re-arrest

Longwe Twala, the son of music legend Sello Chicco Twala, is expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court this morning.

Twala was re-arrested yesterday after he failed to appear in court last month following his release from custody when his lawyer argued that he was not a flight risk.

A warrant for his arrest was then issued.

In September, Twala allegedly broke into his father’s property and stole items worth R200 000. Charges against his brother, Sello, were dropped due to lack of evidence.

He has been out on warning which was granted with conditions.

Some of Twala’s release conditions included that he stay free from drugs and alcohol for the duration of the trial.
