The owner of a rehabilitation center at Modjadjiskloof in Limpopo is facing a charge of murder after the death of 29-year-old man who was admitted at the center.
A 20-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly strangling a three-month-old baby to death in Munzhedzi village outside Louis Trichardt in Limpopo. Provincial police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba says the baby was confirmed dead at the Vleifontein clinic where two people took him.
Ledwaba says the community swiftly alerted the police.
“Community members found the suspect in a siting position and chocking the toddler. They intervened and took the victim and rushed him to the local clinic – unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries and declared dead by the medical services personnel. A case of murder was immediately opened, and the suspect who is related to the victim was traced and subsequently apprehended for murder .”
Ledwaba says the motive behind the incident is unknown, and the suspect will appear before Makhado Magistrates’ Court soon facing a charge of murder.
