When handing down the judgement on rapist’s case
A convicted rapist has been sentenced to two life terms and an additional 62 years of imprisonment by the Thohoyandou High Court in Limpopo.
Humbulani Hlengani was found guilty of multiple charges including murder, rape, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of a firearm and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
The crimes were committed between 2013 and 2018.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi says Hlengani was linked to the offences through DNA.
“The Limpopo High Court sitting in Waterval has sentenced Humbulani Audrin Oliver Hlengani from Musina, Matswale Phase 3, to two life terms and an additional 62 years of imprisonment for multiple charges including murder and two counts of rape. The accused targeted as his victims, Zimbabwean nationals who were renting rooms in the village.”
