Vigil against a rape incident
Police in Limpopo have launched a manhunt for a suspected child molester in Lulekani township outside Phalaborwa.
They say the unknown suspect sexually assaulted a five-year-old child.
Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba says the child’s mother noticed injuries on her daughter’s private parts while bathing her.
The child was taken for a medical examination and doctors confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted.
Ledwaba says they’re investigating a rape case. “The detectives are conducting a thorough investigation into this heinous crime. Police are making an urgent appeal to community members of Lulekani Location and surrounding areas to come forward with any information that may assist in identifying and apprehending the perpetrator of this serious crime against a child.”
