Limpopo police are searching for two armed suspects accused of breaking into multiple homes and committing rape, including against minors, in Hoveni village outside Tzaneen.

Some of the victims were shot and are currently receiving treatment in hospital. The suspects also reportedly stole various household items during the attacks.

Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that investigations are ongoing.

“In response to these heinous acts of crime, Limpopo Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has announced that a specialized task team comprising detectives from the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit, Crime Intelligence, and Tactical Response Team has been established to investigate these cases. We will not rest until they are behind bars,” says Ledwaba.
