Limpopo police arrest illegal miners, drug dealers

Limpopo police have arrested a number of suspected illegal miners and drug dealers in various parts of the province.

Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba says some suspects were allegedly in possession of drugs and dangerous weapons.

The suspects were arrested in an occupied municipal building in Marble Hall.

Arrests were also made at Marulaneng Tin Mine and Tzaneen.

Ledwaba says the suspects will face various charges when they appear in court.

“The Waterberg Task Team proceeded to the Marulaneng Tinmine policing area, where two foreign nationals, aged 26 and 27, were arrested for selling expired food. Meanwhile, the Vhembe Task Team apprehended four illegal immigrants, aged between 21 and 39.”
