Limpopo pig farm murder case to resume

The double murder trial against a Limpopo pig farmer is expected to resume on Tuesday at the High Court in Polokwane, Limpopo.

The case was postponed on Monday because the lawyer of accused number one, Zacharia Olivier, was unavailable.

Olivier is accused of shooting and killing Maria Makgato and Kudzai Ndlovu and injuring Mabutho Ncube.

Olivier’s co-accused, William Musora, is facing charges of defeating ends of justice and contravention of the Immigration Act.

A former accused who has turned state witness, Rudolph de Wet, will continue testifying when the matter resumes.

The lawyer of the first accused, Zacharia Olivier, Advocate Jacobus Venter, produced a series of letters handwritten by De Wet during his incarceration.

The letters were composed in Afrikaans and stated that Olivier and De Wet made a pact to stick to the same version of events.

Further cross-examination by the lawyer of the third accused, William Musora, is expected.
