Murder accused Zacharia Olivier, Rudolf De Wet and William Musora appear before the Mankweng Magistrates Court in Limpopo on 10 September 2024.
Murder accused pig farmer, Zacharia Olivier, is expected to apply for bail today in the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court outside Polokwane in Limpopo.
Olivier will not appear alongside his two co-accused, Rudolf De Wet and William Musora, after the two decided not to continue with their bid for bail.
The three face multiple charges including murder after the remains of Maria Makgato and Kudzai Ndlovu were discovered in a pigsty in August.
Olivier will apply for bail alone following a decision taken at the Polokwane High Court in an appeal matter not to provide a statement he gave to the police following his arrest.
The prosecution had challenged the court’s earlier ruling to provide Olivier’s defence access to his statement.
All three accused men will return to court for the main case on February 18 next year.
