A person holds up a sign against shielding of rapists.
A Limpopo woman has accused police of not ensuring that justice is served. This after her five-year-old child was repeatedly raped allegedly by a close family member, in January and August this year.
The woman says she has been banished from her parents’ homestead in a village outside Tzaneen, as other family members are allegedly protecting the perpetrator.
“It is painful and it hurts. This child deserves to get justice because her virginity was taken away and no action has been taken. Even to me as a parent, I am asking myself what is happening and where did I go wrong?”
