Signboard welcoming people to Limpopo Province
Limpopo province is witnessing a surge in royal succession battles, with several kingdoms and a queendom embroiled in intense disputes.
The battles include, the Vhavenda, Bapedi, Vatsonga and the Balobedu.
These battles have also left the people uncertain about their traditional leadership.
Some members of the Bapedi Royal House are supporting the Queen Mother, Manyaku Thulare, to take over, while other members are backing the late king’s half-brother, Morwamohube Thulare.
The Balobedu Queendom is witnessing a fierce rivalry between Princess Masalanabo Modjadji and her brother, Prince Lekukela, both vying for the throne left vacant by their mother, the late Queen Makobo Modjadji.
