Lifman murder case postponed to August 25

The case against two men accused of the murder of alleged Cape Town underworld crime boss and businessman, Mark Lifman has been postponed to the 25th of August at the George Regional Court in the Western Cape.

Lifman was gunned down in the parking lot of the Garden Route Mall in November last year.

The accused, Gert Bezuidenhout and Johannes Jacobs, were nabbed by police in Uniondale near George, a few hours after Lifman’s murder.

Both are set to appear again in court on August 25th for their pretrial hearing.

The defence for both accused said there was still outstanding evidence contained in the docket that he needed to look at.

This includes cellphone records as well as videos.

Last month, another alleged underworld figure, André Naudé, was gunned down in Cape Town.

Naudé, together with alleged gangster, Jerome Booysen, were friends of Lifman and attended several of the accused court appearances in George.
