Two convicted murderers, including a former police officer, have been served life imprisonment each by the High Court in Polokwane, Limpopo.
Cousins Moses Mokwana and Maxwell Mokwana were found guilty of killing a woman who was a member of LGBTQ-plus, Refilwe Gift Malope.
They murdered her and dumped her body in a disused mine shaft in Benoni in Gauteng back in May 2022.
The victim had been kidnapped from her home at Motsephiri in Limpopo, bundled into a vehicle and driven to Gauteng where she was later killed.
The pair was served with life imprisonment for murder, seven years for kidnapping and three more years for defeating the ends of justice as confirmed by the National Prosecuting Authority(NPA) regional spokesperson, Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi.
