Lesufi appoints Roche Mogorosi as acting HOD for Community Safety

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has appointed Roche Mogorosi as acting Head of Department (HOD) for Community Safety with immediate effect.

This follows the suspension of HOD Nontsikelelo Sisulu and the Chief Financial Officer, Mduduzi Malope, earlier this week.

The suspensions follow the outcomes of an investigation conducted by the provincial forensic audit unit in the Premier’s Office, which uncovered serious financial irregularities within the department.

Spokesperson for the Premier, Vuyo Mhaga, “Mr. Mogorosi brings extensive experience in public administration spanning governance, public participation, human resources, and strategic programme management. His appointment will ensure continuity of leadership and stability within the department. Mogorosi served as chief director of schools’ technology support services at the Gauteng Department of Education. Mogorosi has the expertise to lead the department with integrity as we work to ensure accountability and continued service delivery to the people of Gauteng.”
