Grade 1 children in a class during COVID-19 outbreak
Gauteng parents have eight days to get their childrenโs school documents in order, as the online application process for Grades 1 and 8 opens next week Thursday 24/07 and closes on the 29th of August.
The DA in the province says it hopes the department prepared sufficiently to avoid recurring problems experienced in previous years.
Gauteng DA shadow MEC for Education, Sergio Isa Dos Santos say parents grappled with system glitches, insufficient support, in particular limited internet access.
โWe have submitted lots of questions requesting clarity on the locations of the 81 decentralized walk-in centres, but to date we have not received any response from the department, nor have we seen any visible communication or advertising about the department to inform parents where these walk-in centers are located.
This lack of transparency really undermines parentโs ability to access much needed support. โ
