Former COPE leader and Free State premier, Mosiuoa Lekota
African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general Fikile Mbalula says the late Congress of the People co-founder Mosiuoa Lekota will remain a symbol of hope for the people of South Africa.
Tributes are continuing to pour in for struggle fighter and Congress of the People co-founder, Mosiuoa Lekota as a hearse is transports his body to the Old Grey Sports ground in Bloemfontein for the funeral.

Lekota’s funeral service is under way at the Grey Sports Ground in Bloemfontein. Former presidents Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe as well as Lekota’s former comrades from the Black Consciousness Movement, the United Democratic Front and his political home COPE are among the mourners. Mbalula says Lekota dedicated his life to improving the lives of ordinary South Africans.
