Lawyer alleges police planted gun in Limpopo wife murder case

The defence lawyer in the murder case of a 58-year-old man accused of killing his wife, has told the Polokwane High Court in Limpopo that the gun that was found at his house in Lebowakgomo, was planted by police to incriminate him.

Fannie Seribishane allegedly shot and killed Mumsy Seribishane, who was a nurse at Lebowakgomo Hospital, outside the hospital gate when she was about to report for duty in October 2024.

He’s facing further charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Seribishane’s lawyer, Joyce Sehlapelo is calling for her client to be acquitted.

“According to the accused, the firearm was planted, which I’m swayed to believe. Obviously, they know that they have committed a very serious offense, which now it’s called upon them to make sure that the police are not looking at their direction, however, sending the police to someone’s direction.”
