Late journalist Matshidiso Madia described as fearless storyteller

Veteran journalist Lizeka Mda, who is a friend of the late Tshidi Madia has described her as a phenomenal and fearless storyteller.

Mda was speaking at the funeral service of Madia at the San Salvador Catholic Church in Germiston, Johannesburg.

Madia died last week at the age of 42 after a short illness.

Mda says Madia’s proudest moment, prior to her trip to the White House, was the country’s case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.

“I remember as we watched advocate Ngcukaitobi making his arguments. And then there was an NEC later on when the President was sitting watching the deliberations. We were so proud of the small country in the bottom of the world, which was not willing to bow down or cower to any evil. I think Tshidi, wherever she is, is most happiest to know that this is what our country stands for.”
