Late Chiefs equaliser secures 1–1 draw against Zamalek

Kaizer Chiefs have scored a late equaliser in injury time to force a 1-all against Zamalek of Egypt in the CAF Confederation Cup Group D encounter in Polokwane earlier this Saturday afternoon.

Chiefs conceded a goal early in the first half, after another defensive blunder by Angolan international Inacio Miguel.

Chiefs needed something out of this match after losing their opening match of the CAF Confederation Cup against another Egyptian Club, Al Masary, last Sunday.

But it was not a good start for Amakhosi at home, conceding in the opening minutes of the match.

Then Chiefs suffered a major blow and had to make an injury-forced change after Gaston Sirino went down in the 17th minute.

Zamalek nearly doubled their lead early in the second half, but the attempt was cleared off the line. But Chiefs found the equaliser in injury time through defender Dylan Solomons after a goalkeeping blunder.
