The reburial of former African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Duma Nokwe and his wife Vuyiswa will take place this morning.

The main program will begin at the Walter Sisulu Hall in Randburg, Johannesburg and then proceed to the West Park Cemetery.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the Special Provincial Official Funeral, which he has accorded to Nokwe.

Former president Thabo Mbeki is among the dignitaries who will attend the reburial.

Nokwe, who was the Secretary-General of the ANC between 1958 to 1969, passed away in exile in Lusaka in 1978 at the age of 50.

His mortal remains were only repatriated to South Africa last year.

He will be reburied alongside his wife, Vuyiswa, who passed away in 2008.
