A manhunt is under way for a man who allegedly stabbed and killed his 32-year-old partner, as well as four other people near Umzinto on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast.
KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says police officers found the woman with multiple stab wounds in a house in Phase 2 of the Malangeni area on Saturday night. It’s believed that the couple had an argument.
Netshiunda says it’s alleged that soon after the stabbing inside the house, the suspect also stabbed two other people along the road.
“It is also reported that soon after stabbing his partner, the suspect stabbed two more men, aged 53 and 58-years-old along the road. Police received further reports that there were two other victims, aged 37 and 51-years-old who were stabbed and succumbed to their multiple stab injuries upon arrival at a local clinic. Preliminary investigations suggested that they were also stabbed by the same suspect. The motive of the stabbing spree is under investigation, and police are appealing to anyone who might have information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect to tip off the nearest police or call the crime stop number 08600 10111.”
