KZN horror crash leaves five dead, one critically injured

Five people have been killed and one seriously injured in a crash in Cato Ridge, western Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

The injured person has been taken to hospital.

ALS paramedics spokesperson Garrieth Jamieson says, “Paramedics responded to this horrific collision this morning and found emergency personnel already in attendance. A triage was done, and it was noted that a single vehicle was involved, which had six occupants in it. Four were declared deceased on the scene. Whilst paramedics were working on the remaining two, the patient went into a state of cardiac arrest despite emergency services’ best efforts, and the patient also passed away on scene.”

Police have opened an investigation into the cause of a crash.
