KwaZulu-Natal is gearing up to welcome nearly 70 000 international tourists during the festive season, according to provincial tourism spokesperson Pinky Radebe.

Highlighting the importance of ensuring visitor safety, Radebe said over 500 seasonal workers have been employed to assist in crime prevention across the province during December.

“For the province of KZN and the city of Durban, the safety of our holidaymakers is very important. We are going to collaborate with enforcement agencies like the SAPS, RTI, and metro and district municipalities to ensure the safety of our tourists,” Radebe says.

The seasonal workers will be deployed at various tourist destinations across the province.
