Cold and rainy weather
Disaster management teams in KwaZulu-Natal have been placed on high alert due to warnings of severe thunderstorms from the South African Weather Service.
Residents are advised to exercise caution due to potential heavy rains, hail, lightning, and damaging winds.
This could lead to localised flooding and infrastructure damage.
Spokesperson for the provincial department of Co-operative Governance, Senzelwe Mzila.
“According to the warning levels 2 and 4, severe thunderstorms are expected across a large number of districts in the province. Residents are urged to take caution and avoid traveling on bridges and roads in low-lying areas, as these may be susceptible to flooding. Avoid outdoor activities as lightning, hail, and flooding may result in injuries and death. If possible, stay indoors with clear windows, shelter pets, and cover vehicles.
