Kubayi pledges to strengthen justice cluster for effective service

Justice and Constitutional Development Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi, says they will intensify efforts to ensure that the justice cluster works effectively so that members of the public have faith in the justice system.

Kubayi was speaking during an imbizo at Kgapane outside Tzaneen in Limpopo. The imbizo is aimed at addressing and combating gender-based violence (GBV).

Kubayi says that it’s important that people should see justice prevailing.

“What we can say is that there is a need for us to intensify a coordinated approach of us as a cluster working together not only at the national level, but from provinces to local. Because we do find out that as we go down.

You find a big fragmented approach, so that’s one of the areas we have identified. We want to improve in terms of the work.”

As the country commemorates Women’s Day,the Minister has praised the recent arrest of an alleged serial rapist in the Maake area outside Tzaneen in Limpopo.

Kubayi says the arrest of Matome Modiba is a victorious step towards curbing cases of GBV.

This while, more than 22 000 suspects were arrested for gender-based violence, femicide, sexual offences and crimes against children between April 1st 2024 and 31 March 2025 nationwide.
