Kolisi squashes talk of pressurising Boks ahead of All Blacks match

Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi, has squashed talk of putting pressure on the team to try to beat the All Blacks in round four of the Rugby Championship.

The Springboks take on the All Blacks in Wellington, New Zealand, on Saturday morning.

The Boks need to win to stay in contention to defend their Rugby Championship title and retain the Freedom Cup as well.

Kolisi has been a part of many Springbok victories, but he stressed that the preparations are always the same, regardless of the opponent or the occasion.

We have to also keep our heads, it is the same as you play in a World Cup final. You don’t do preparations different to any game, you prepare exactly the same, so nothing has changed our way. We know how much pressure there is in the game already, so we don’t need to add any more, so we have prepared properly,” says the captain.

“Having Sasha take charge of the team and obviously Ruan and Lood taking care of the lineouts, but nothing has been done that is special or out of the norm because we have never done anything different to any game that we have won before or any big game that we have played in.”
