Kidnapped Cape Town baby found


A 37-year-old woman has been arrested for the alleged kidnapping of a nine-day-old baby in Bellville, Cape Town.

Police spokesperson FC van Wyk says the baby’s mother reported the incident after the child went missing at a local shopping complex at the weekend.

He says officers later found the baby in a house in Tafelsig where they tracked the suspect.

Van Wyk says the suspect will appear in court after being charged.

“She left the child in the care of a women who was with her when she went to the bathroom. Upon her return the mother could not locate the woman and her baby. She reported the incident with Bellville SAPS for further investigation.”
