The Crime Intelligence boss has revealed WhatsApp messages between alleged cartel member Vusumuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala and Police Minister Senzo Mchunu associate Brown Mogotsi, was sought to discredit the political killings task team (PKTT).
General Khumalo says misinformation exchanged between Matlala and Mogotsi formed part of the pair’s attempts to discredit the PKTT and his subsequent arrest.
“The heading itself Chairperson, shows towards the mixture of processes known after the disbandment letter. Now the first heading under breaking news is talking to the Rogue Unit, which is PKTT but then the heading itself, it’s totally different. It’s talking to the ID raiding the offices of the National Commissioner and my office after we were served with notices of arrest.”
