Deputy President of the Patriotic Alliance Kenny Kunene
Deputy President of the Patriotic Alliance, Kenny Kunene, has been appointed as the MMC of Transport in the City of Johannesburg by Mayor Dada Morero and will be sworn in on Monday.
This follows a meeting between the African National Congress (ANC) and the Patriotic Alliance (PA) on Wednesday.
Last week, PA leader Gayton McKenzie gave the ANC an ultimatum to reinstate Kunene back to his position or their party walks out of the Government of National Unity (GNU) and all coalition agreements with the ANC.
McKenzie further threatened to resign as the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture should their demands not be met in seven days.
I wanna thank the @MYANC in the manner in which we sorted out our disagreement regarding the @Kenny_T_Kunene matter. Most importantly I wanna thank @OnsBaizaNie for trusting us as leadership. Let’s work 💚🤛 pic.twitter.com/u1vigXGm37

Kunene resigned as an MMC to allow an investigation into his alleged criminal connections to murder accused Katiso “KT” Molefe.
He has since been cleared of any wrongdoing by an independent law firm.
