Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe, co-accused back in court

Murder-accused businessman Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe and his co-accused, Michael Tau, Tiego Mabusela, and Musa Kekana, will appear again in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court today for the centralisation of dockets.

Molefe and the three face charges related to the murders of Oupa Sefoka commonly known as DJ Sumbody and Hector “DJ Vintos” Buthelezi.

In October, the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg granted Molefe bail of R400 000.

The ruling came after the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court initially denied him bail.

The State argued that Molefe’s influence and access to resources made him a flight risk who could interfere with witnesses.

But the high court ruled that he had shown exceptional circumstances justifying his release.

Today’s sitting is expected to be brief, as it will focus on the centralisation of the dockets.
