The case of six people accused of the hijacking and murder of Kaizer Chiefs defender, Luke Fleurs, has been postponed to the 21st of January at the High Court sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court in Ekurhuleni on Gauteng’s East Rand.
Fleurs was killed in April last year at a petrol station in Florida, Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg.
All the accused have been charged with robbery with aggravating circumstances, murder, and the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
All six accused made a brief appearance in the dock before their case was moved to next year.
This time around the matter was postponed due to one of the defence attorneys not being available to attend proceedings.
The accused will remain in custody until the resumption of their case, as they have all been denied bail.
The state says it has a strong case against the accused and prosecutors will be ready to proceed with trial at the next appearance.
