Amakhosi have now moved to fifth spot on the Betway Premiership table
Kaizer Chiefs are back to winning ways. Chiefs registered their first win in four league matches when they narrowly beat Durban City 1-0 in the only Betway Premiership match played at the FNB Stadium on Sunday.
Amakhosi have now moved to fifth spot on the Betway Premiership table after their ninth win of the season.
The last time Chiefs scored a goal was in the 2-1 loss to Stellenbosch F.C. in the first round of the Nedbank Cup on the 14th of February.
Chiefs were looking to bounce back after suffering four defeats in a row in all competitions. Chiefs were desperate for victory after just a single win in their last six games.
Amakhosi, who were struggling to find the back of the net, had to face an impressive Durban City without suspended defender Aden McCarthy and Sibongiseni Mthethwa. The homeside came into this match lying 6th on the log, with thirty points after eighteen matches.

City were 5th after nine wins in 20 games but there was no single shot on target from both sides in the opening 25 minutes. It was still goalless at half-time, although Chiefs were the better side in the closing stages.
Chiefs, who were in search of a goal, introduced youngsters Mfundo Vilakazi and Asanele Velebayi in the second half.
Glody Lilepo finally broke the deadlock with a brilliant strike in the 68th minute, his third goal of the season. The homeside managed to hold on to register the slender victory.
Chiefs’ next match will be at home against bottom-of-the-log Magesi F.C. at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium, next Saturday.
City, who are in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup, will face Richards Bay in the KwaZulu-Natal derby on Sunday.
