Suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police Acting Chief, Julius Mkhwanazi.
Suspended Ekurhuleni Acting Police Chief Brigadier Julius Mkhwanazi is expected to respond to allegations levelled against him at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry this morning.
Brigadier Mkhwanazi has been implicated in the Ekurhuleni Metro Police blue light saga.
This for unlawfully installing and authorising the fitting of blue lights in the vehicles of attempted murder accused Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
Evidence before the Commission suggests that Brigadier Mkhwanazi was shielded from any disciplinary processes by retired Ekurhuleni City Manager, Dr Imogen Mashazi.
Brigadier Mkhwanazi is also expected respond to a case concerning a Brakpan man whose body was dumped in dam in Nigel.
It has been alleged that Mkhwanazi was called to the home of the deceased to assist team members including those from a private security company to clean up the murder scene.
Mkhwanazi has also been accused of unlawfully appointing 55 metro personnel without due process.
