Judgment in the bail application of a former police officer accused of the murder of his Gauteng traffic warden girlfriend is expected to be delivered at the Protea Magistrates Court in Soweto today.
Mandla Buthelezi faces a charge of murder for allegedly shooting dead 22-year-old Chesnay Keppler after a domestic dispute on December 26, last year.
The Eldorado Park community is strongly opposing bail and a petition is doing the rounds on online social media platforms calling for Buthelezi to be denied bail.
The 42-year-old allegedly shot himself after the alleged fatal incident.
This led to the matter being delayed as he still had to recover in hospital.
The community members are calling for him to rot in jail.
