SA U20 captain Riley Norton and the Junior Boks lifted the U20 world crown.
The South African Under-20 rugby team is expected to arrive at the OR Tambo International Airport anytime soon.
The Junior Boks broke a 13-year drought, winning the World Rugby Under 20 Championship for the first time since 2012.
They beat six-time champions, New Zealand, in Rovigo in Italy, on Saturday evening.
Super fan, Masilo Machaka, says South Africans just can’t stop celebrating the nation’s success on the world sports stage.
“We can’t stop celebrating, my brother. Incredible performance by our team. We did very well and they bring nothing but the trophy back home, this is what we’ve been waiting for, my brother. They took a leaf from the senior Springboks; it’s all about celebration, nothing more, nothing less. We must keep celebrating.”
