Joshlin Smith’s convicted kidnappers to hear their fate

Sentencing proceedings in the kidnapping case of Joshlin Smith will commence in the Western Cape High Court in Saldanha Bay today.

Her mother, Kelly and co-accused, Jacquen Appollis and Steveno Van Rhyn, were convicted on charges of kidnapping and child trafficking about three weeks ago.

The six-year-old Joshlin went missing from her Middlepos home in February last year.

Kelly Smith’s neighbour, Sinazo Kolisi, says she wants to see justice.

“All I want is that the court must play the role, must sentence Mama Ka-Joshlin for a life sentence and throw the key by the sea because she knows the truth. She knows where the child is. It’s Mama Ka-Joshlin is hiding something. It’s either something happened to that child and then she covers for her boyfriend.”
