Joburg Super Kings beat Pretoria Capitals by 22 runs

The Joburg Super Kings have started their SA20 cricket campaign with a punishing 22 run victory over the Pretoria Capitals, in Centurion.

It was the first time in four seasons that the Joburg side got a win over their Gauteng rivals at the Centurion venue. The Kings batted first and finished on 168 for 6 with Rilee Rossouw scoring 48 runs.

The Capitals’ English player, Tymal Mills was his team best bowler taking 2 for 17. The Capitals looked in complete control of the runchase thanks to an opening stand of 71 runs between Bryce Parsons and Will Smeed.

Duan Jansen, twin brother of Proteas player Marco, then delivered a career best performance with the ball. He took four wickets for 23 runs which effectively took the Pretoria side out of contention and the homeside finished on 146 for 9 in their 20 overs.
