Johannesburg’s Public Safety Department is currently conducting a sting operation on the M1 road near Killarney Mall. The aim is to enforce traffic regulations.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Public Safety Mgcini Tshwaku, says their focus is on taxis, buses, and scholar transport.
Tshwaku has encouraged motorists to work with law enforcement officials to ensure road safety.

“This guy was driving on the yellow line. The car does not have a disc. He does not have a license. As you can see, now, it’s a moving coffin. So, this car, we are going to impound these cars, by the way, because of non-compliance, none whatsoever. Even worse now, driving on the yellow lane, which is actually one of our focuses as well. So, we are taking this car away. So, please, don’t drive on the yellow lane,” says Tshwaku.
