Joburg EMS firefighters have been attacked and their Fire Engine stoned in Soweto.
City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services has expressed concern over the incident.
EMS Spokesperson, Robert Mulaudzi, says the firefighters were responding to a call about a shack fire at the Motsoaledi informal settlement in Soweto when they were attacked.
Mulaudzi says no one was injured.
“As the City EMS, we are really concerned about this incident. It does not only create panic and fear among the EMS personnel, but it also disrupts service delivery. While we are rendering this very important essential servic, we are pleading with our residents to not only protect EMS personnel but to also protect the resources,” says Mulaudzi.
