Joburg Emergency Services on standby after Level 1 weather warning


Johannesburg Emergency Services says it is on standby for any eventuality during the two-day G20 Summit this weekend. This follows a Level one warning by the South African Weather Services for the weekend.

The weather services has announced that there will be severe thunderstorms in a number of provinces and this might result in damage to infrastructure.

Emergency Service’s Robert Mulaudzi says they are ready for any eventuality.

“We have ensured that we have activated all our resources on the ground so that we can be able to respond to all the emergencies that might occur. I think we need to also acknowledge our residents out there, also thank this platform which we are given. We are hopeful that we are not going to have any emergencies that might be reported this weekend.”
