Johannesburg Emergency Services personnel are on high alert as more heavy rainfall is forecast for Gauteng today.
Emergency Services spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi says despite overnight rain, no major incidents have been reported.
He has urged pedestrians and motorists to be cautious.
“We are still encouraging our motorists to continue to exercise caution while driving, extend the safe following distance, try and avoid roads and bridges which might be flooded, especially low-lying bridges. From our side as the City of Johannesburg Emergency Services, we still remain on high alert monitoring all seven regions of the city for any emergencies that might occur.”
