It’s about refocusing SA-US trade relations: Magwenya

Presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says President Cyril Ramaphosa and his US counterpart Donald Trump will discuss a myriad of issues when they meet on Wednesday.

President Ramaphosa has arrived in the United States of America for the most important meeting with President Trump.

Magwenya says on the agenda will include the discussion of AGOA, tariffs and the relations between Washington and Pretoria.

“It’s about refocusing our trade relationship. We would still like to see AGOA being extended and see South Africa’s participation in AGOA. However, if the Trump administration decided to do away with the trade scheme, we will then be ready to table a new trade relationship framework.”
