At least 50 Putco buses were set on fire at the Moloto Bus Depot in Mpumalanga.

Mpumalanga police say they are investigating malicious damage to property, attempted murder and assault following attacks on some depots of Putco bus company.
Fifty buses were torched and two workers were injured overnight.
An unknown group of people ambushed security personnel at the Moloto depot. The group then set buses on fire.
Other depots also reported that their buses were torched.
Provincial police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli says investigators are working tirelessly to apprehend the perpetrators.

“A team of investigators have already been assembled by the Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General Dr Zeph Mkhwanazi, who strongly condemn this incident. And the team is working around the clock to ensure that the perpetrators of this crime are brought to book. We urge any person who has information that may assist the team to apprehend the suspect to use the SAPS app,” adds Mdhluli.
The Public Utility Transport Corporation (PUTCO) has confirmed that 47 of its buses were set alight and two workers injured in attacks at multiple depots in Mpumalanga.
