IFP leader Velenkosini Hlabisa says the death of IFP leader and Member of Parliament, Khethamabala Petros Sithole, is a significant loss to the party. He says Sithole was reliable and hard-working.

Hlabisa says Sithole never sought the limelight, but remained committed and dedicated to his work.

Sithole was gunned down during a shooting at the Buyafuthi Hostel in Katlehong, Gauteng, last week.

The IFP leader was delivering the eulogy at Sithole’s funeral in Nkandla.

IFP spokesperson Mkhuleko Hlengwa has described the murder of Sithole as senseless.

Two suspects have since been arrested in connection with Sithole’s death.

Hlengwa says the murder had deeply shaken the community and left the family devastated, particularly Sithole’s youngest son, who is struggling to come to terms with the loss.

“Jobe was a good man. He did not deserve this ending at the hands of thugs and criminals who’ve got little regard for life,” says Hlengwa.

“Nothing broke me more this week than speaking to one of his youngest sons, where after the family visit he says to me, ‘Mkhulu, please, what happened to ubaba?’ You could feel the pain, the hurt, the emotional breakdown, the psychological confusion that is there. So, these kinds of things are breaking society, they’re breaking families,” he adds.
