The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has confirmed what it calls the assassination of its Deputy Chief Whip in Parliament, Khethamabala Petros “KP” Sithole, who was gunned down in Katlehong on Gauteng’s East Rand on Saturday evening.
In a statement, the IFP expressed shock and sadness over Sithole’s killing. The party says details surrounding the attack remain unclear and has called on law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice. Sithole, who was 68, was a long-serving member of the IFP’s National Council and held numerous leadership roles throughout his political career, including Gauteng Provincial Chairperson.
The IFP has remembered Sithole as a hardworking servant leader, saying his death is a devastating loss for the party and the country. The party has extended their condolences to Sithole’s family.
