The coffin of the late IFP MP Khethamabala Sithole is seen draped with the party’s flag during his funeral service on 08 June 2025.
The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has called for law enforcement to leave no stone unturned in its investigation into the death of its late Member of Parliament, Khethamabala Sithole.
Sithole was shot and brutally killed in May while doing party political work in Buyafuthi hostel in Katlehong in the East Rand.
Two other IFP members were also shot but survived the incident.
Three people were arrested in June.
IFP Chairperson in Gauteng, Bonginkosi Dlamini, says the death of Sithole is a great loss to the party.
He revealed that even though, thus far, the brutal incident had nothing to do with political killings, Sithole died too early.
The three accused made a bail appearance before the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
They face charges of murder, two of attempted murder, and one of possessing an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Dlamini says they are happy with the proceedings and the swift apprehension of the suspects.
To show support to the Sithole family, IFP members made their presence felt in court.
The family wants his alleged killers to be denied bail. The trio will wait until Friday to hear their fate on their bail bid.
