IFAF opposes DA’s bid to remove B-BBEE laws

The Independent Financial Advisors Forum has rejected the Democratic Alliance‘s ‘Economic Inclusion for All Bill’, calling it an attempt to erase South Africa’s history of exclusion.

The forum has argued that B-BBEE has made measurable gains in dismantling apartheid’s economic legacy.

It has cited the growth of the black middle class and increased access to skills development.

The forum is calling on Parliament to reject the Bill and instead deepen transformation efforts.

“It will be fatal on black business the proposal by the DA. The constitution of SA is very clear that we need to redress the imbalances of the past and discrimination on past was based on race. Even when they elected the native land act and the Bantu education the apartheid legislation was based on race and there must be accountability,” says the forum’s deputy chairperson, Buti Sigasa.
