Thousands of New Year’s revellers and holidaymakers have enjoyed the sunny weather and Durban’s beaches before their return home in the days to come.
The N3 Toll Concession expects traffic inland to pick up in the coming days and over the weekend.
Most people were in a positive mood about 2025 after the festivities of New Year’s.

One beachgoer says, “Basically, I have decided to move to Johannesburg and the first thing I have done, I came here to the sea just to refresh and be connected with my ancestors. I will stay focused and be in the moment, focused on the goals and I will not allow anyone to distract me from my goals.”
Another says “What I have seen in Durban is that it is so beautiful and there is no crime, unlike Johannesburg. Here there is freedom and where I am walking and passing roads freely and it’s so amazing. I want to tell people that they must visit Durban again this year as it is so beautiful as it has beautiful beaches.”
