The High Court sitting in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, is expected to sentence a 44-year-old Sibusiso Mahlalela of Naas in Nkomazi.
Mahlalela was found guilty of killing his girlfriend, Fikile Mokoena, in August 2024.
Evidence in court indicates that on the day in question, the accused and the deceased engaged in a physical altercation after leaving a local tavern together.
The court also heard that hours later, the deceased then complained about a severe headache.
The accused organised some medication, but the headache persisted and they decided to go to the nearby clinic.
Along the way to the clinic, the deceased collapsed and died.
The accused then hid the deceased’s body in a nearby farm.
