The Hawks in Mpumalanga have confirmed a break-in at their offices in Mbombela.
It is alleged that the suspects gained entry by forcing open a window. A few loose items, including a computer screen and a projector, were stolen.
The Hawks spokesperson Magonseni Nkosi has assured the public that no case dockets or computers were taken, and that no sensitive information was compromised.
”We can further assure the public that no sensitive information was compromised. A case docket was registered and we are currently busy with investigations. We would like to request the community members at shops and recycling centres not to buy these items. If anyone can see somebody selling such items, they could please contact their nearest police station or call the crime stop number 0860010111.” – Reporting by Palesa Sotomela.
