Roads completely flooded.
The Groblersbrug border post linking South Africa and Botswana in Lephalale, Limpopo, has been closed due to flooding.
Services have also been disrupted in and around Lephalale.
Lephalale Mayor Aaron Mokgehle says the border post has suspended its services while the local Witpoort Hospital has had to evacuate patients to other hospitals due to threats of flooding.
Officials have been unable to report for duty at the hospital and other government buildings due to bridges that have been flooded and swept away in most areas.
Mokgehle says several roads, which includes the one that connects Lephalale and Thabazimbi, and Lephalale and Ga-Seleka, are currently impassable.
“The border is now closed and we are anticipating more rains. We just want to advice our people not to play in the water. We need everybody to be safe.”
